Cynthia Erivo leads Culture in Quarantine singing masterclass
The BBC's Culture in Quarantine programming began in March, bringing arts and culture into homes across the country during the national lockdown, and giving performers and companies the opportunity to share their work digitally.
As part of this, the Get Creative At Home Masterclasses gave an insight into a range of arts disciplines and skills from leading practitioners, from watercolour painting and ceramics, to piano and musical theatre.
We were delighted that RADA graduate and Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo was able to lead a singing masterclasses for graduating RADA student Daniel Bowerbank as part of the series.
Cynthia led Daniel through the song 'Nobody Need To Know' by Jason Robert Brown, from the musical The Last Five Years. They work together on the song line by line, giving an insight into how a performer approaches story-telling through song, and how rigorous and detailed rehearsal can transform a performance.
We are very grateful to Cynthia and Daniel for taking part in this special masterclass. You can watch the masterclass on BBC iPlayer here.
