Congratulations to RADA Graduates Tom Vaughan-Lawlor and Ralph Fiennes for their wins at the Irish Film and Televison Academy (IFTA) Awards.

Tom Vaughan-Lawlor was named Best Supporting Actor – Drama for his role as Brendan in historical drama Say Nothing. The series follows the lives of people growing up in Belfast during the Troubles, and also features RADA Graduate Maxine Peake.

Ralph Fiennes was named Best International Actor for his starring role as Cardinal Lawrence Conclave, a political drama following the secretive process of selecting a new pope.

A number of RADA graduates received nominations at this year’s IFTA awards, which celebrates Irish talent in film and television. Jessie Buckley was nominated for Lead Actress – Film, for Wicked Little Letters. Tom Vaughan-Lawlor received a nomination for Supporting Actor – Film, for Baltimore alongside his win for Say Nothing. Ciarán Hinds was nominated for Lead Actor – Drama for The Dry. Chris Walley was nominated for Supporting Actor – Drama for Bodkin. Fiona Shaw received a nomination for Supporting Actress – Drama for Bad Sisters. RADA Vice-President Cynthia Erivo was nominated for Best International Actress for Wicked.
