RADA is delighted to announce the launch of our new MA Playwriting programme, starting September 2025.

Led by course leader Paul Sirett, this MA programme will enhance students' creative and collaborative abilities while developing their craft. Students will establish their identity as practitioners with the skills and confidence to take an original idea from conception to production.

Students on this programme will engage in creatively rigorous and fulfilling vocational training that immerses them in the world of the professional playwright, ensuring they are artistically and practically equipped for the industry.

At RADA, our world-leading training nurtures creative expression, empowers individuals and seeks to influence positive change in the creative industries and wider community. Our graduates are passionate storytellers, and many have gone on to work as playwrights, including Lolita Chakrabarti, Mike Leigh, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Asif Khan.

We are also delighted to open applications for our MA Theatre Lab, with a slightly shorter application window as the course reverts to a September–September cycle.

Led by course leader Ian Morgan, our established MA programme nurtures students' ability to make new work in many forms, through experimenting with existing approaches in the studio and creating original performances in collaboration with experienced professionals and in self-led work.

Extending training, it re-addresses the work of the performer and actor as an embodied form at the heart of the theatre-making process. The course explores improvisation and collaboration, alongside research and reflection as core approaches to learning.

Applications for the MA Playwriting are open until Monday 2 June 2025 at 11.59pm. Applications for MA Theatre Lab are open until Wednesday 19 March 2025 at 11.59pm. Find out more on our Courses page.
