RADA is opening its doors as a place of safety and refuge on Saturday 10 August
Following events this week and in light of potential civil unrest in London on Saturday 10 August, RADA will be opening a safe space in RADA Studios, 16 Chenies Street. Members of the public who are in Central London, and need refuge because they are distressed or fear for their safety can come in for a quiet space to rest and reflect.
While there is no suggestion that RADA is at risk and we are hoping for a peaceful weekend, our doors will be open in case. If you stand against racism please feel welcomed and make use of our space. We will be open between 12-6pm.
We will have additional security positioned outside the building to ensure this is a space for people to feel safe and protected.
Niamh Dowling, RADA Principal says ‘I want to acknowledge the profound impact these events and racist actions and violence have on not only the RADA community but also our extended community and members of the public. We stand against all forms of hate, discrimination and division and are committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for everyone.’
Access will be signposted on the street and can entered via RADA Studios at 16 Chenies Street, WC1E 7EX and will be available between 12-6pm.
